๐Ÿ’Ž Ras El-Tin Palace

Location: ๐ŸŒŠ Alexandria, Egypt

Established: Kingdom of Egypt 1834

Notes: A marvelous ancient palace on the Mediterranean sea, with Roman & medieval style architecture, Greek statues, European paintings, Quranic verses, Arabian gates, Gothic ornaments, and many more. Commonly used till this day as the summerhouse for the king (past) or president (current) of Egypt.

๐Ÿ’Ž Abdeen Palace

Location: ๐ŸŒ‡ Cairo, Egypt

Established: Kingdom of Egypt 1863

Notes: A tour of this lavish palace takes us back in time in an express trip of history from the ancient times till today. The kings of Egypt (19th-20th century AD) used to live in this palace. A beautiful palace in the centre of Cairo, with many beautiful gardens full of ancient trees. The palace comprises 550 rooms and halls, including the royal theatre where many of Egyptian most renowned singer and female artist in the modern history, Um Kalthum, held many of her performances and concerts. The palace is divided into the Salamlek section where the king’s daily activities took place and where government met, and the Haramlek which is the personal section where the royal family lived. The Salamlek section hosts the suez canal lobby and hall with many artistic paintings of the opening event of the canal. The palace used to be the most important location and the ruling house of the royal family of Egypt and also hosted the throne’s hall where the coronation of the king took place. It is full of special and impressive antiques and paintings, in addition to Byzantine, Coptic and Islamic art. The palace and its museum is open for the public and visitors can come enjoy those magnificent sights in person!

The palace today hosts many majestic museums, including the presidential gifts museum showcasing all gifts received by the current and previous presidents of Egypt.

๐Ÿ’Ž Qubba Palace

Location: ๐ŸŒ‡ Cairo, Egypt

Established: Kingdom of Egypt 1872

Notes: Currently, the biggest palace in Egypt with its majestic architecture and large beautiful gardens. It hosts many beautiful oil paintings, some rare ancient decorations and sculptures from all over the world, an oil painting with a complete version of the holy Quran, and some musical masterpieces. It is currently used for hosting the high-level delegations and elite visitors of Egypt, in addition to major events like the presidential inauguration ceremony. The palace used to be the location for celebrations and weddings of the Egyptian royal family. Fun fact: “Qubba” in Arabic means dome!

๐Ÿ’Ž El Tahra Palace

Location: ๐ŸŒ‡ Cairo, Egypt

Established: Kingdom of Egypt, early 20th century AD before 1930s

Notes: Close to Qubba palace, comes its magnificent smaller sibling Al Tahra Palace, built with modernistic Italian style architecture. It was originally the residence place for princess Amina from the Egyptian royal family and a house for queen Farida of Egypt. The palace hosts multiple sculptures, artistic masterpieces, Islamic and Quranic decorations & art, and rare treasures and antiques reflecting a mixture of western and oriental art styles. The palace was used by the Egyptian president, Anwar El Sadat, and his army commanders to plan the operations of the 1973 war victory and was the main operation room for the liberation of Sinai from occupation. Today, the palace is used as a presidential guesthouse for the modern Egyptian republic.

๐Ÿ’Ž Montazah Palace

Location: ๐ŸŒŠ Alexandria, Egypt

Established: Kingdom of Egypt 1892

Notes: Montazah Palace, also called Al-Haramlik palace, is an iconic architectural masterpiece at the shores of the Mediterranean sea in Alexandria, Egypt. Located within the famous Montazah parks and gardens. It was always the summerhouse of the Egyptian king and the royal family, and more recently the summer destination for many Egyptian presidents. The location of the palace and the museum can be visited today by tourists. Inside, there are many French antiques, rich artefacts and artistic decorations reflecting the gothic, classical, Italian, and Islamic styles and architecture. The palace also hosts many painting from Medieval Europe and Greek art.

๐Ÿ’Ž Al-Ittihadiya Palace

Location: ๐ŸŒ‡ Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt

Established: Kingdom of Egypt 1910

Notes: Also known as El-Orouba or Heliopolis palace, Al-Ittihadiya is one of the most important presidential palaces today and the main working place for the president of the Arab Republic of Egypt (A.R.E), where the president also receives all the honourable guests and leaders of other nations. Back in the days, the palace used to be the headquarters of the Federation of Arab states, hence its name “Al-Ittihadiya” which means “the unity/federation” in Arabic. The location of Al-Ittihadiya palace was also one of the main gathering places in East Cairo (the capital of Egypt) for the historic 2013 Egyptian revolution, which witnessed one of the biggest gatherings in the history of Egypt (and maybe the world as well) with millions of Egyptians rallying at its area and other locations all across Egypt. The palace is built with a magnificent blend of Egyptian, Oriental, and Arabic art and architecture to reflect the identity of the Egyptian nation. It is home to many dazzling designs & art-pieces including some elegant and artistic woven silk carpets (including a silk carpet depicting the Egyptian borders on the map dating back to 100s of years ago and decorating the grand sitting room), and also some of the rarest marble decorations and magnificent artwork & paintings. The enticing palace is full of magnificent enormous halls that will keep visitors always indulged in its richness.

๐Ÿ’Ž Al-Safa Palace

Location: ๐ŸŒŠ Alexandria, Egypt

Established: Kingdom of Egypt 1927

Notes: A gem inside the Zizinia neighbourhood of the city of Alexandria, and also lying on a hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean beach is El Safa palace. A relatively smaller but very beautiful and elegant palace in Egypt. The palace exhibits some charming Islamic designs fused with European art, picturesque gardens, and some of the most luxurious rooms.
