🎭🎖️🎞️🇪🇬 During the holy month of Ramadan, most Egyptians and viewers across the Middle East were watching a TV series called El Ekhteyar (“the choice” in English) which presents the life of an Egyptian colonel called Ahmed Mansi, who became a hero figure all across Egypt after his battles with the Egyptian thunderbolt army forces (as the commander of the battalion 103 – special forces & commandos) in counter-terrorism missions. The TV show demonstrates the choices taken by Mansi to defend his nation and region against terrorism in contrast to the bad choices of an expelled military officer who was radicalised and transformed into a leader of a terrorist group aiming to attack the state and its law enforcement / military. This ex-officer, called Ashmawy, was a colleague of Mansi in the same Egyptian SEAL army training units and thunderbolt forces before becoming radicalised and transformed into a brainwashed terrorist militant. The TV show also presents the multiple epic battles by the heroes and martyrs of the same battalion, including colonel Ramy Hassanein, captain Ahmed Shabrawy, lieutenant Khaled Maghraby (a fierce special forces agent also nicknamed “dababa” in Egyptian or “the tank” in English), soldier Ali (who killed tens of terrorists in an operation with 36 bullets in his body), soldier Ayman (who hugged a suicide bomber before detonation to protect his mates from the explosion), etc. All of those heroes participated in many missions by this battalion which operated on the North Eastern borders of Egypt during the period 2014-2017. The TV show is produced by Synergy- Tamer Morsy, directed by Peter Mimi, is written by Baher Dewidar, and stars Egyptian actor Amir Karara in the role of Mansi. The TV series can be streamed online on the Egyptian entertainment platform WatchIT.
💣 The TV show in itself was full of fascinating cinematography, a lot of realistic action scenes mimicking with perfection the real-life battles, a lot of drama surrounding Mansi and his life with his family full of kindness and giving to others, a documentary of the radicalization of Ashmawy and how he turned to the path of evil (until his capture from Libya by Egyptian intelligence and his ultimate execution after the death sentence ruling by the military courts of Egypt), and how Egypt became the forefront defender of the Middle East and Mediterranean region against terrorism and how Egypt turned around the table with victory against terrorism and radical islamist militancy (and the social groups / societies they originate from like the illegal society, so-called “Muslim Brotherhood” despite all the evil it confines that has no relation to Islam. Most terrorists / radical groups in the Middle East originate from this fraternity after first being recruited during youth in universities or by missionaries in society, and being taught their radical islamist ideologies from the books of their “scholars” and integrating them in social/sports/work/cultural/philanthropic activities with other members (or sub-groups called “families“). It is a pseudo-secret group where members should not declare their membership publicly except inside the fraternity or their family subdivision. Recruitment aims to select candidates with weak characters / ambitious but unsuccessful statuses, or people with some radical religious backgrounds or who are totally ignorant of religion and are “sinful”, so that they can be easily brainwashed to obey the secret group’s mission of eradicating the states in the Middle East under the false name and their corrupted understanding of religion. They promise candidate members complete integration in their society, provide training and cultural/sports activities, facilitate jobs and funding for them, etc., to try and attract them in until they are gradually and in step-wise phases become fully immersed in their extremist ideologies and get promoted in their membership ranks, similar to other secret societies).
