Both friend nations enjoy very strong bilateral relationships and adopt similar strategies for their foreign policies in the region.
πποΈπ«π·πͺπ¬Β Le Drian met first with his Egyptian counterpart, Mr. Sameh Shoukry minister of foreign affairs of Egypt, and held a press conference together. Both nations expressed their strong will for a peaceful political solution in Syria which preserves the unity of the nation. They also expressed their alignment towards an end to the division between factions in Libya under a single national army which represents all people of the nation. Egypt and France also expressed their strong-alignment in counter-terrorism efforts for preserving peace and security in the Middle East and the Mediterranean basin.

ποΈΒ The French minister also met with the President of Egypt, president El-Sisi, to deliver a written letter from president Macron of France. The letter held a message of gratitude from France for the strong efforts Egypt is exerting to improve the situation in the Middle East and in counter-terrorism. Both nations also achieved one of the highest levels of economical trade levels during the recent period of time which highlights the strong relationship between both nations.
βοΈπποΈΒ France is participating in the construction of the Metro line no.4 in Egypt’s capital, Cairo, and is already a very strong trade partner for Egypt in the EU. The construction site of this project was visited by the French minister and some Egyptian government officials during their tour in Cairo. At the end, president El-Sisi thanked Mr. Jean-Yves Le DrianΒ for his fruitful visit to Egypt and for his alignment efforts during the current period. The president and minister Le Drian also agreed to further strengthen bilateral relationships on all levels.
