In partnership with the Italian giant ENI from the energy industry, Egypt will create one of the biggest natural gas exploration rigs in the world in the Mediterranean sea. The outcome of this huge project will be the biggest production of natural gas in the world from water-based fields. This comes in light of the huge investments by the Italian giant in the energy sector in Egypt as they foresee enormous economic development ongoing in Egypt. Production from the new field is expected to be achieved by the end of 2017. This production will provide the needs of Egypt from natural gas plus an extra reserve for global exports.
